Position Summary

The Residential Support Advocate (RSA) is responsible for monitoring resident activities and ensuring their compliance with Safe Home program rules and conditions. The RSA ensures the safe custody and accountability of all residents while maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly facility. The Salvation Army Orange County's Anti-Trafficking Services provides human trafficking survivors in Orange County holistic care through trauma-informed, culturally-and linguistically sensitive, strengths-based, and survivor-centered case management and advocacy.

Essential Functions

  1. Maintain a safe, friendly, and cooperative atmosphere within Thatiana's Home and with residents to promote a clean, orderly, and healthy environment.
  2. Conduct regular checks of bed areas, outside grounds, and common rooms; ensure residents are involved in program activities or otherwise engaged with their case plan.
  3. Distribute hygiene items, clothing, towels, linens, and other essentials; ensure the facility is kept clean and residents participate in cleaning efforts.
  4. Support residents in developing and implementing life and social skills plans to enhance independence, community involvement, and quality of life. Encourage adherence to these plans.
  5. Monitor resident and house activity for safety; respond appropriately to behaviors, attitudes, and dispositions; contact 911 in emergencies.
  6. Coordinate with other agencies and case managers to ensure service delivery; assist with referrals and intake processes.
  7. Transport residents to meetings, appointments, or other locations as needed.
  8. Secure and distribute medications as required.
  9. Maintain accurate logs, case notes, documentation, and other records; complete administrative tasks as assigned.
  10. Lead resident process and support groups; assist residents with routines, meal prep, and schedules.
  11. Report issues or concerns promptly to the Case Manager or Program Manager.
  12. Attend staff trainings and meetings; perform other duties as assigned.
Pay Rate

$20-$24.00/hr.

Working Conditions

Must be able to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist; grasp, push, pull objects; lift up to 25 lbs.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or G.E.D. required.
  • Some college in related fields and two years of social service experience preferred.
  • Experience in client assessment, case planning, management, and referrals.
  • Fluency in Spanish preferred.
  • CPR and First Aid certification preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Deep commitment to supporting human trafficking survivors.
