Job description

a) Minimum Diploma in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering


1. To study the contract documents and drawings and verify if there are any discrepancies

among the drawings. All discrepancies shall be brought to the attention of the design team

concerned.

2. Liaise with the contractors/sub-contractors in the coordination of site works

3. Ensure the contractors maintain work safety, cleanliness and tidiness of the site

4. To ensure that all installation methods and materials used are in accordance with the

contract drawings and specifications.

5. To liaise with the contractors and design team in the checking and approval of shop

drawings, catalogues and samples.

6. To liaise with the contractors for the witnessing, inspection and coordination of site works where required.

7. To supervise the construction of mechanical and electrical works, and work with other resident supervisory staff deployed on site for successful completion of the Project;

8. To generate defects list, supervise and monitor progress of rectification works and ensure

all defects are rectified.

9. To follow up on site for the Consultant comments on shop/as-built drawings.

10. To check operation and maintenance manuals.

11. To assist in handing over of the installations to the Employer's maintenance staff.

12. To undertake any other duties related to the project as and when instructed by the

Employer.

13. For Acceptance Inspection and Commissioning Tests, all test reports and certificates shall be endorse by the site staff (RTO) and shall be forwarded to Architects/S.O. or employers representative for review and acceptance.

14. To supervise the execution of the Works and ensure that the Works are carried out by the Contractor in accordance to the specification / bills of quantities, drawings and all other contract documents and shall exercise all necessary supervision to ensure Employer’s interest are protected during the course of duty. In connection herewith, the Consultant shall engage the approved number of full-time residential technical officer (RTO) to carry out the supervision of the installation of the mechanical and electrical works during the contract period including any extension of time. They shall directly report to the Consultant.

15. To prepare weekly and monthly site inspection and progress reports for the Consultant.

16. To maintain records of all site correspondences and inspections records.

17. To verify site installations and work done on site, to facilitate progress claims made by the Contractor.
