Job summary

A leading company in construction is looking for a Resident Technical Officer to join their project in the Queenstown area. This role includes ensuring compliance with construction drawings and supervising site activities. Candidates should have at least 5 years of experience, ideally in healthcare and other related projects, with a diploma or degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering as an added advantage.

Qualifications

  • Registered Resident Technical Officer with IES / ACES is an advantage.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Resident Technical Officer on local projects.
  • Experience in healthcare projects and student accommodations is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Job Manager with technical and design issues at site.
  • Check construction drawings, ensuring compliance with approved specifications.
  • Resolve site issues and attend site meetings.

Skills

Familiar with local codes and regulations
Ability to respond to technical questions

Education

Diploma/Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering

Job description

Project Location: Institute project at Queenstown area

Job Description:

  • Assist the Job Manager to attend to technical and design issues at site and report issues to Job Manager.
  • Provide standing supervision as and when directed by the Resident Engineer and/or Consultant team.
  • Check through construction drawings and highlight any discrepancies found between or within the same disciplines prior to the commencement of installation works.
  • Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with approved drawings and specifications.
  • Ensure adequate safety precautions are enforced on site.
  • Resolve all site issues and ensure timely completion of the project.
  • Attend site meetings, site inspections, testing and commissioning.
  • Maintain site records.
  • Estimated commencement of work in September/October 2025.

Requirements:

  • A registered Resident Technical Officer with IES / ACES is an added advantage.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Resident Technical Officer on local projects.
  • Experience in Healthcare project (Polyclinic, Nursing Homes, Hospital etc)
  • Experience in Student Accommodation, Service Apartments, Hotel, Institute of Higher Learning, or project of a similar nature
  • Familiar with local codes and regulations
  • Ability to respond to technical questions
  • Diploma/Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from a recognised tertiary institution is an added advantage
