Job description

Our Water business is currently hiring a Resident Technical Officer (RTO) Instrumentations Controls and Automation (ICA) mainly focusing on supporting the overall engineering team working on the project extension of a water treatment plant located in Tanah Merah, Singapore, The role will oversee ICA works on quality control and assurance matters for the construction of the respective facilities in the contracts; supervise the contractors and maintain consistency across all the contracts and ensure that quality of all ICA works comply with the specifications and applicable codes and regulations. The role will work closely with the Chief RE and Engineering Manager to communicate with the Client and 3rd Parties as required.

Main duties:

  • A combination of project management, technical expertise, and problem-solving skills is required to ensure that electrical systems are installed, modified, and maintained effectively in both existing and new plant environments.
  • Review ICA designs and specifications for the new plant to identify potential issues or improvements.
  • Collaborating with design teams and contractors to ensure the installation meets all regulatory requirements, specifications, and standards.
  • Conducting quality inspections and tests (FAT and SAT) to verify that installations are done correctly and meet performance criteria.
  • Commissioning new electrical systems and ensuring they are functioning correctly and integrated with other plant systems effectively.
  • Collaborating with engineers and other stakeholders to develop modification plans that comply with regulations and standards.
  • Overseeing the implementation of modifications, including coordinating with contractors and ensuring work is done according to specifications.
  • Documenting all modifications and ensuring that records are updated accurately.

To be a successful candidate, you should have a minimum Diploma in Electrical or Electronics with a minimum 5 years of relevant working experience as an RTO ICA on infrastructure projects; have an interest in the water industry; experience in used water/water project in Singapore would be an added advantage. Knowledge and experience in drawing will be an added advantage.
