Job description

The Resident Manager of the Valley Wing at Shangri-La Singapore will be responsible for overseeing the operations and guest experience of the hotel’s most luxurious and exclusive wing. This role requires a passionate and refined leader with a strong Rooms background and a deep understanding of high-end luxury service. The ideal candidate will have experience managing boutique or smaller-scale ultra-luxury operations and will possess a talent for creating bespoke guest experiences that exceed expectations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the daily operations of the Valley Wing, including Front Office, Butler Services, Housekeeping, and Guest Relations.
  • Curate and elevate guest experiences to ensure the highest level of personalized luxury service.
  • Oversee guest satisfaction and loyalty programs, ensuring consistent delivery of service excellence.
  • Collaborate closely with Sales & Marketing and F&B teams to develop bespoke packages and experiences tailored to the Valley Wing clientele.
  • Maintain strong relations with high-profile guests and VIPs, ensuring discreet and intuitive service at all times.
  • Lead, coach, and inspire the Valley Wing team to uphold Shangri-La’s Vision, Purpose and Beliefs.
  • Monitor and maintain operational budgets, productivity, and quality standards.
  • Drive innovation in guest service delivery while preserving the essence of timeless luxury.
  • Uphold compliance with local regulations, brand policies, and health & safety standards.

Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in luxury hospitality with a strong Rooms background.
  • Proven experience in a senior leadership role (such as Resident Manager or Hotel Manager) in a high-end, boutique or ultra-luxury property.
  • Exceptional leadership and people management skills with a hands-on, guest-centric approach.
  • Fluent in English and possesses proficiency in at least two other languages to effectively communicate with our diverse international guests.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong cultural awareness and understanding of luxury clientele, especially high-net-worth individuals and international travelers.
