Job summary

A leading company in the construction industry is looking for a Site Supervisor in Singapore. The role involves supervision of civil and structural works for various projects ensuring compliance with regulations and conducting quality control checks. Candidates must possess a degree in Civil and Structural Engineering and be registered as a RE with IES/ACES, with relevant experience in supervising major projects.

Job description

  • Degree in Civil and Structural Engineering with at least 5 years' post tertiary experience in Singapore, of which 5 years must be supervise of Substation 66kV and above/ Data Center /Industrial / Factory projects as RE.
  • Must be Registered with IES/ACES as a RE for RE C&S.
  • Basic knowledge of Architectural details and construction works on site.

1. To act as a Site Supervisor appointed by the Qualified Person (QP) in accordance with the Building Control Act.

2. To assist the QP(Supervision) in carrying out supervision works on site

3. To prepare inspection and test plans which are relevant for the supervision of the projects.

4. To conduct quality control of all civil and structural, as well as, mechanical, electrical, and landscaping works.

5. To inspect and advise for compliance on temporary works, including instrumentation reports by Contractor.

6. To support in public relations works.

7. To supervise and keep independent records of day works including overall and part works programme.

8. To issue site memo to Contractor for recording of observed safety and quality non-compliance with Contract or Authorities, Services Agencies requirements.

9. To attend project meetings and draft meeting minutes.

10. To carry out site supervision and inspection of works including any off-site manufacturing/testing as instructed by the QP(Supervision) and/or S.O. so as to ensure that works are constructed to the required quality, accuracy and standards.

11. To monitor progress of the works on site including material supply to the site and at any off-site manufacturing/testing facilities and report delays immediately.

12. To provide standing supervision in compliance with the relevant Building Control Regulations.

13. To maintain proper and updated daily records of all works done, including independent record of test, inspections, status of work, safety, site diary, material and equipment on site, labour, dayworks, provisional quantities etc.

14. To check that the Contractor executes preliminary items.

15. To check service routes and Contractor’s setting out and report any deviations to the QP(Supervision)/S.O.

16. To verify reports and claims submitted by Contractors.

17. To record all variations as instructed or approved by the S.O.

18. To undertake any other duties related to the project as and when instructed by the S.O./Client/QP(Supervision).

19. To check drawings including as-built and documents and report discrepancies.

20. Report on site safety, security and housekeeping.

21. Verification of the Client’s Permit To Works (CPTW) checklist completed by the Contractor including:

i. Review the CPTW and keep records of relevant documents such as Authorities/Agencies

approvals, services detection plan and etc. on site.

ii. Make yourself aware of the contractor daily site works and remind them to provide the CPTW

for your verification prior to commencing works on site.

iii. Inform the Contractor in-writing of any non-compliance identified by the CPTW and ensure that

the Contractor rectify the non-compliance prior to permitting works to commence.

iv. Inform the S.O./ QP(Supervision) immediately if the Contractor proceeded works on site without a valid CPTW.

22. Any others duties specified under Building Control Acts and relevant scope

23. Any other work incidental to the above and/or reasonably to be inferred from the nature of work to be carried out by the Service Provider Field staff; and,

24. Such other work as may be agreed from time to time.

25. In addition to the principal duties detailed above, the Field Staff is expected to be vigilant and monitor the Contractor performance in progress, site safety, services protection, security and hygiene.
