Job summary

RECRUIT EXPRESS PTE LTD in Singapore is seeking a cybersecurity professional to join our IT security operations team. You will assist in developing policies, deploying tools, and supporting incident response with a focus on telecom environments.

Qualifications

  • Collaborate with network and infrastructure teams to implement basic security configurations and controls.
  • Participate in security risk assessments, vulnerability scans, and audits.
  • Monitor security logs and alerts, triage events, and support incident response activities.
  • Maintain asset inventories and configuration documentation related to security tools and processes.
  • Contribute to compliance reporting and documentation efforts.
  • Stay informed on cybersecurity trends and best practices in telecom environments.
  • Participate in training and awareness initiatives to promote security best practices across the organization.
  • Learn and apply security best practices in public cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.

Job description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in training and awareness initiatives to promote security best practices across the organization.
  • Learn and apply security best practices in public cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree (or diploma with relevant experience) in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a cybersecurity, network support, or IT security operations role.
  • Basic knowledge of cybersecurity concepts: threat types, risk management, incident response, and data protection.
  • Foundational understanding of networking principles and protocols (TCP/IP, routing basics, firewalls, VPN, Encryption).
  • Familiarity with security tools (e.g., SIEM, antivirus, firewall, vulnerability scanner).
  • Willingness to learn telecom-specific protocols and infrastructure concepts.
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation skills.
Preferred Certifications and Skills
  • Entry-level cybersecurity certification (any of the following preferred): CompTIA Security+
  • Cisco Cyber Ops Associate
  • EC-Council Certified Security Analyst (ECSA) - Associate level
  • Networking certification (optional but advantageous): Cisco CCNA, CCNP or equivalent
  • Exposure to scripting or automation (Python, PowerShell) is a plus.
  • Team player with a growth mindset and the ability to follow structured guidance.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
