Job summary

CHIJ Sanctuary for Children Limited is seeking a resident caregiver to support the elderly ladies in their well-being at the home. The caregiver will be responsible for assisting with daily needs, preparing meals, administering medication, and engaging in positive interactions. Ideal candidates should have experience in a residential setting, exhibit patience, and demonstrate resourcefulness. Meals and lodging are provided, and the position requires staying on-site for most of the week.

Qualifications

• Experience in a residential home for the elderly.
• Patience and acceptance of the elderly.
• Resourcefulness in keeping the elderly positively engaged.

Responsibilities

• Assist the elderly with toiletry needs throughout the day and night.
• Cook and serve meals, administer medication, and engage the elderly in activities.
• Accompany the elderly to medical consultations and church services.

Job Purpose (CHIJ Sanctuary for Children)

As a resident caregiver, to ensure the physical, psychological, emotional, social and spiritual well-being of the elderly ladies, who have been orphaned or abandoned to the Home in IJHCC now known as CHIJSC, since they were babies. Meals and Lodging provided.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Assist in the elderly's toiletry needs throughout the day and in the night.

2. Cook and serve meals to the elderly

3. Administer medication

4. Engage the elderly in positive communication and activities

5. Accompany the elderly for their regular medical consultations at the hospitals or polyclinics

6. Accompany the elderly for regular church services or events organized by volunteers, schools or corporations

7. General house cleaning

8. Manage budget for household expenses, including marketing and transport

9. Staying on-site for at least 6 days per week
