Job summary

The School of Chemistry, Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology at NTU Singapore seeks an Assistant Manager, Research & Partnership to support the Head of Research & Partnership in building collaborations with academia, industry, and government agencies. You will oversee manpower budgets for research projects and ensure compliance with guidelines.

You will also assist with faculty in research grant lifecycle, oversee payroll projections, budgeting for events, and coordinate institutional grant

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Experience in research grant and/or project management is an advantage.
• Strong understanding of the research ecosystem.
• Excellent analytical, problem solving and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Support the Associate Chair (Research) and Head of Research & Partnership in the administration and day-to-day operations of the School’s Research and Partnership Office.
• Serve as the Unit Manpower Officer to manage manpower budget allocations across multiple grants.
• Review payroll projections for research grants including salaries, bonuses, SDL, and insurance costs.
• Approve and process manpower-related variation requests including hiring, renewals, transfers, and upgrades.
• Ensure budgets and expenditures align with funding guidelines.
• Plan and coordinate seminars, industry engagements, and events including logistics and budgeting.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver events and activities.
• Coordinate grant calls and nomination exercises and ensure timely submissions.
• Provide support to faculty throughout the grant lifecycle.
• Manage research data management for audit readiness.
• Undertake other administrative projects as assigned.
