Job description

The research officer will be primarily involved in work related to developing new immune cell therapies including flow-based assays, molecular biology, cytotoxicity assays, in vivo experiments in animal models and clinical trial sample management. Independent and motivated individual who will assist the Principal Investigator(s) in research activities in the field of hematopoietic stem cell transplantation and chimeric antigen receptor T (CAR-T) cell therapy.

Job Description:

  • Carry out laboratory investigations to generate data for the project.
  • Maintain proper records of all experiments done and results obtained.
  • Maintain proper records of all clinical trial samples.
  • Effective communication of research results.
  • Participate in grant writing/budgeting for relevant research sections.
  • Prepare presentations and reports when needed and meeting project deadlines.
  • Ensures smooth running of the laboratory by participation in the maintenance of lab equipment, inventory and supplies.
  • Timely acquisition of critical reagents and necessary documentation for research projects to proceed with minimal delays.
  • Assist the team in developing and optimizing experimental methodology for research projects.
  • Revise techniques and troubleshooting guidance.
  • Participate in lab protocol maintenance.
  • Ensuring SOPs are being followed.
  • Provides staff training to new hires of the lab.
  • Working closely with other stakeholders and department who are assisting PI and Research Fellows for the research projects.
  • Assist technicians, students and other lab members in their experiments if needed.
  • Participates actively in centre, ACP-related activities and Hospital initiated activities.
  • Performs any other miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned by Supervisor/HOD or Division.

Job Requirement:

  • Degree in Life Sciences with 2 years working experience or Masters in relevant field in transplant biology, immunology or gene therapy with 2 years working experience.
  • Theoretical and practical knowledge of technology platforms in the areas of molecular and cell biology will be preferred.
  • Experience and/or willingness to train in animal work will be valued.
  • Good team player with positive attitude and capable of adapting to a fastpaced setting.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong time-management, resourcefulness and organizational skills.
