Alexandra Hospital is seeking a Research Fellow who will be a cornerstone for the research division. Responsibilities include formulating research ideas, collaborating with healthcare professionals, managing research projects, and guiding junior researchers, leveraging a strong background in health services research and applied statistics.
As a research fellow, the position holder will the corner stone for the research division in Alexandra hospital. He/She will formulate health services research ideas, work with healthcare professionals, apply for fundings and guide junior researchers. Background knowledge and work on quantitative data and statistics are preferable.
In addition, administrative work which may be related to research or general will also be needed for this position.
Primary Responsibilities
Work on projects related to health services and operational research.
Write and review research papers, present research outcomes and develop collaborations.
Contribute to project management and provide guidance to other healthcare worker researchers.
Secondary Duties
Develop own portfolio of research work and projects.
Working with PI(s) perform research grant administrative matters such as, (not limited to): variation & extension requests, submission of claims and progress reports etc.
Assume additional responsibilities as assigned by reporting officer/HOD.
Job Requirements:
PhD and/or Degree in Nursing / Medicine or related discipline.
4-5 years of experience in medical research is a plus.
Expertise in health services research (HSR) and applied statistics, with experience in study design, data analysis, and outcome evaluation.
Strong background in developing and implementing data-driven solutions for healthcare improvement, with proficiency in AI methodologies (e.g., machine learning, predictive modelling) where applicable
Proven ability to independently manage and execute projects across diverse health services domains, from conceptualization through to implementation, including data collection, analysis, and interpretation.
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R, with experience in using machine learning and analytical frameworks to solve healthcare-related problems.
