The School of Materials Science and Engineering at Nanyang Technological University is a leader in materials innovation and sustainable technology development. The NGenuity Lab, led by Assistant Professor Leonard Ng Wei Tat, specializes in developing autonomous laboratory systems to accelerate scientific discovery through automation and AI.

We are seeking a Research Fellow to lead the development of an autonomous laboratory system supporting Singapore's "30 by 30" food security goal through innovative research in alternative proteins. The focus will be on creating AI-driven platforms that incorporate Large Language Models (LLMs) and digital twin technology, contributing to Singapore's aim to produce 30% of its nutritional needs locally and sustainably by 2030.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Lead the development of machine learning pipelines and LLM-based systems for automated experimentation.
  2. Create automated data processing workflows and predictive models.
  3. Configure cloud-based and on-premises computing infrastructure for digital twin implementations.
  4. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders on system integration.
  5. Mentor junior researchers and contribute to grant writing.
Job Requirements:
  1. PhD in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, or related technical field.
  2. Strong programming skills and experience with machine learning frameworks.
  3. Experience with cloud computing platforms and data processing pipelines.
  4. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  5. Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
