Job summary

Nanyang Technological University Singapore's School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering seeks a talented researcher to advance perception and embodied intelligence through robotics foundations and learning from demonstration.

Candidate will develop robotic foundation models, LfD frameworks, multi-embodiment retargeting with safety constraints, and mobile bimanual manipulation systems for domestic and manufacturing contexts. PhD in a related field and strong publication record preferred.

Qualifications

• PhD in Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 3-year research experience in related area.
• Expertise in robotic manipulation systems.
• Knowledge in robotic foundation models.
• Publication track record is an advantage.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as ROS and Python.
• Excellent communication skills, written and verbal – able to communicate complex concepts clearly and accurately.

Responsibilities

• Develop robotic foundation models for general manipulation based on vision-language-action models
• Develop learning from human demonstration (LfD) framework for vision-language-action models
• Develop multi-embodiment retargeting framework with safety constraints
• Develop a mobile bimanual manipulation system to complete diverse tasks in household environment and in manufacturing deployment scenarios
