Job Description:

Applications are invited for a Research Fellow position focused on climate change, weather extremes, energy capacity expansion modelling, and renewable energy management. This position is based in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE) at NUS.

The selected Research Fellow will be responsible for:

  1. Developing and enhancing existing energy capacity expansion models.
  2. Creating a novel integrated framework that incorporates climate extremes for resilient power system planning.
  3. Collaborating with the Principal Investigator on reports and project deliverables.
  4. Assisting in co-supervising PhD students.

Job Requirements:

  • PhD in civil engineering, hydrology, water resources engineering, optimization, seasonal forecasting, machine learning, or related fields.
  • Extensive experience in developing complex computer codes (e.g., in Python, R, Shell).
  • Proven ability to write papers for leading research journals and conferences.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
  • Open to fixed-term contracts.
