The School of Chemistry, Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology (CCEB) at NTU Singapore invites applications for a Research Fellow in Organic Electrosynthesis to advance heterogeneous nanocatalysts for sustainable organic synthesis and to elucidate reaction pathways and active site mechanisms.

The successful candidate will design, synthesize, and characterize nanomaterials, conduct electrochemical experiments (CV, LSV, chronoamperometry), analyze data, draft high-impact manuscripts, and mentor

Qualifications

PhD in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, or a related field.
Expertise in heterogeneous catalyst synthesis and nanomaterial chemistry.
Experience with organic electrosynthesis/electrochemistry.
Strong publication record and communication skills.
Experience with in-situ/operando spectroscopy is a plus.

Responsibilities

Synthesize, functionalize, and optimize novel heterogeneous nanocatalysts tailored for organic electrosynthetic reactions.
Characterize nanocatalysts using XRD, XPS, TEM/SEM, FTIR, Raman, NMR, and BET.
Design, execute, troubleshoot, and optimize electrochemical experiments (CV, LSV, chronoamperometry, controlled-potential electrolysis).
Elucidate reaction pathways and active site structures in electrosynthetic processes.
Analyze data, monitor milestones, and present findings to collaborators and funding agencies.
Draft manuscripts for peer-reviewed journals and contribute to patent applications where applicable.
Mentor undergraduate and graduate researchers and ensure laboratory safety.
