Job summary

NTU Singapore’s School of Chemistry, Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology invites applications for a Research Fellow in Organic Electrosynthesis. The role focuses on developing heterogeneous nanocatalysts for sustainable organic synthesis, including designing, synthesizing, and characterizing novel nanomaterials and elucidating reaction pathways.

The Fellow will conduct electrochemical experiments, perform advanced material characterizations (XRD, XPS, TEM/SEM, NMR, GC-MS, HPLC), mentor

Qualifications

• PhD in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong expertise in heterogeneous catalyst synthesis and nanomaterial chemistry.
• Hands-on proficiency in electrochemical techniques and material characterization tools.

Responsibilities

• Synthesize, functionalize, and optimize novel heterogeneous nanocatalysts for electrosynthetic reactions.
• Characterize nanocatalysts using XRD, XPS, TEM/SEM, FTIR, Raman, NMR, BET.
• Design and optimize electrochemical experiments to evaluate performance and stability.
• Elucidate reaction pathways and active site structures in electrosynthetic processes.
• Draft manuscripts and mentor undergraduate/graduate students.
