Job description

The School of Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering (MAE) invites applications for the position of Research Fellow to undertake a project to develop efficient theoretical, numerical and experimental methods encompassing physics and data for the investigation of composite structures or fluid-structure interaction.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Undertake theoretical development of physics-enabled data driven methodologies for fluids and structure.
  • Undertake numerical simulations and experiments of morphing wing structures and flexible bodies.
  • Innovate and seek technologies for potential applications.
  • Publish quality research articles to disseminate study findings.
  • Undertake project administration and liaison.
  • Provide regular updates and reports.
Job Requirements:
  • Possess a recognized PhD degree in Mechanical/Environmental/Civil engineering or Chemistry/Physics/Materials or related disciplines.
  • Good theoretical and numerical skillsets.
  • Optional - Experimental skillsets in wind tunnels.
  • Optional – composite structure simulation, design and manufacturing methods.
  • Good track record in scientific publication.
  • Good interpersonal skills. Excellent teamwork awareness.
  • Strong responsibility for research/work.
