Job summary

NTU Singapore’s School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering seeks a Research Fellow to design, manufacture, and promote a sea wave energy electrical generating system. Lead team building and indoor large-scale tests, and coordinate industry exhibitions to showcase wave energy equipment.

Candidates should hold a PhD in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent, with strong project management, communication, and hands-on experience with advanced characterization and testing instruments.

Job description

The School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (MAE) is seeking to hire a Research Fellow to work on the design, manufacturing, team building, and industrial promotion of an electrical generating system using the sea wave energy as the power source.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, Research, and solution demonstration of wave energy equipment components.
• Procurement of experimental consumables, prototype manufacturing and assembly of wave energy equipment.
• Liaison and organization of large-scale indoor tests of wave energy equipment.
• Channel expansion and industry exhibition promotion of wave energy equipment.

Job Requirements

• Education qualifications: PhD (Mechanical Engineering) or above
• Soft skills: Organization management and project progress control ability, channel development and industry exhibition promotion ability, Adaptability to high-intensity R&D and industry-application settings abilities.
• Hard skills: Communication and written skills, design software use and manufacturing processing ability, Hands-on abilities in operating advanced characterization and testing instruments (TEM, Cs-correctedTEM, cryo-EM, XRD, universal tester, etc.).
• Experience: More than 3 years of management experience in energy and aerospace sectors. More than 1 year of research and development experience in aerospace and defense industrial R&D fields, through a national elite engineer program at a top-tier aerospace enterprise.
• Competencies: Scheme demonstration and organizer management of wave power generation experimental device, excellent communication and negotiation skills, can implement the contact and arrangement of large-scale experiments, can ensure the safety of experimental construction and solve technical problems.
