Job description

Join Our Team as Research Fellow at the School of Biological Sciences, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore.

The School of Biological Sciences (SBS), part of the College of Science, was established in 2002 with a mission to advance biological and biomedical sciences. At SBS, our research spans various areas, including infectious diseases, immunology, neurodegenerative diseases, telomere biology, and genome function. Over the years, SBS has attracted talented individuals from around the world and Singapore to join as scientific leaders and researchers.

Join the laboratory of Associate Professor Miao Yansong (lab webpage) at the School of Biological Sciences. Our interdisciplinary research groups work on macromolecular assembly and biomolecular phase separation in actin remodeling, as well as the mechanosensing roles of the cell wall (CW) - plasma membrane (PM) - actin cytoskeleton (AC) continuum. We are particularly enthusiastic about walled cells, including yeast, fungal, and plant cells.

RESEARCH FELLOW (MATHEMATIC MODELING OF MACROMOLECULAR ASSEMBLY)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilizing advanced techniques such as single-molecule imaging and super-resolution imaging
  • Conducting quantitative protein biochemistry experiments, including protein purification, protein interaction studies, and elucidating protein functions in regulating cytoskeleton assembly

Job Requirements:
  • PhD in biochemistry, biophysics, molecular and cell biology, or related fields
  • Prior research experience in a relevant field is advantageous
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team

RESEARCH FELLOW (BIOCHEMISTRY)

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct research in Systems Biology to study cell signaling
  • Perform large-scale signaling analysis or protein-interactome analysis
  • Utilize machine learning-based biological data mining and analysis, including protein structural analysis

Job Requirements:
  • PhD in Biological Sciences, Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, or related fields
  • Prior research experience in machine learning or systems biology is advantageous
  • Knowledge of microbe-host interaction and molecular-based cell immune signaling background is a plus
