The School of Biological Sciences (SBS), part of the College of Science, was established in 2002 with a mission to advance biological and biomedical sciences. At SBS, our research spans various areas, including infectious diseases, immunology, neurodegenerative diseases, telomere biology, and genome function. Join the laboratory of Associate Professor Miao Yansong (lab webpage) at the School of Biological Sciences. Our interdisciplinary research groups work on macromolecular assembly and biomolecular phase separation in actin remodeling, as well as the mechanosensing roles of the cell wall (CW) - plasma membrane (PM) - actin cytoskeleton (AC) continuum. We are particularly enthusiastic about walled cells, including yeast, fungal, and plant cells.
