Job summary

NTU's School of Materials Science and Engineering seeks a Research Fellow to lead a project on bioflocs in climate-resilient aquaculture systems. The role requires a PhD and a strong background in environmental engineering or microbiology, with data analysis and reporting responsibilities.

You will work within a multidisciplinary team across Singapore and China, publishing findings and presenting results to industry partners.

Qualifications

We are looking for a Research Fellow (RF) with expertise and experience in Environmental Engineering / Microbiology. The RF will engage in innovative research focused on the formation, structure, and function of bioflocs in climate-resilient aquaculture systems. This position provides an exceptional opportunity to engage in impactful, interdisciplinary research in a multidisciplinary, multi-institutional research team. It also provides opportunities to closely interact with industry leaders in aquaculture.

Key Responsibilities:

The candidate would be required to lead a project under a larger research programme between Singapore and China.

Job Requirements:

The candidate should possess the following qualifications, skills and experience:

• PhD degree in environmental engineering, biochemical engineering, environmental biotechnology/microbiology or a related field in science or engineering;
• Solid foundation in microbial biotechnology, as evidenced by documented research experience, e.g., journal publications;
• Excellent written and oral communication skills;
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a multidisciplinary research team;
• Research experience in biofilm- or biofloc-related topics is highly desirable.
