Job summary

Qualifications

• PhD in Developmental Psychology, Education, Child Development, Learning Sciences, or related field.
• Strong knowledge of developmental science and ability to conduct literature reviews (systematic/scoping).
• Experience in quantitative and/or qualitative research with children, parents, or educators.
• Track record of publishing in peer-reviewed journals.
• Experience with children’s digital media, AI, technology use, or educational technology is a plus.
• Excellent analytical, synthesis, writing, and communication skills; translate research into reports.
• Strong organizational skills; able to manage multiple projects and collaborate with researchers and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead a centre-level initiative to synthesize developmental science for age-appropriate AI guidance in education.
• Review international policy guidelines on children's AI use and developmental science.
• Design and conduct empirical studies with children, parents, educators, and stakeholders.
• Horizon-scan AI, education policy, and development research to identify new questions.
• Prepare reports, policy briefs, publications, and knowledge translation materials.
• Organize stakeholder engagements with government agencies, schools, and partners.
• Support CRCD researchers with data analysis, manuscript prep, and grants.
• Pilot AI-enabled research tools to improve efficiency.
• Undertake other research duties as assigned by Centre Management.
