A leading university in Singapore seeks a researcher to lead independent studies and publish findings while mentoring junior staff. The role requires a Ph.D. in Management or a related field, with a focus on innovative data collection and analysis methods across various domains.
Lead independent and collaborative research by designing, implementing, and overseeing mixed-methods studies, ensuring methodological rigour and innovation.
Design and supervise data collection strategies, including but not limited to large-scale surveys, qualitative interviews and observations, and field experiments.
Conduct advanced quantitative and qualitative analysis, utilising statistical modelling, computational tools, and thematic frameworks to derive actionable insights.
Produce scholarly outputs, including peer-reviewed publications, and conference presentations (such as AOM, SMS), to disseminate research findings.
Secure competitive research funding by spearheading grant proposal development, including identifying funding opportunities, crafting compelling narratives, and managing budgets.
Mentor junior researchers (e.g., research assistants, interns) by providing methodological guidance, overseeing project contributions, and fostering professional development.
Engage with stakeholders (academia, industry, policymakers) to translate research into impact, including advisory roles and knowledge exchange initiatives.
Contribute to strategic research planning, including identifying emerging trends, refining institutional research priorities, and fostering interdisciplinary collaborations.
Bridge academia and industry by expanding faculty research opportunities through collaborations, funding access, data resources, and knowledge dissemination through BFI Research. Eg. BFI research e-newsletter, BFI Knowledge Alliance and Family Business Library (WIP).
Other duties as assigned.
Ph.D. in Management or related social science discipline.
Prior publication experience leading applied or industry research reports.
Prior professional experience or academic study in the fields of entrepreneurship, social entrepreneurship, venture capital, venture philanthropy, philanthropy, or family business.
Experience in working with qualitative datasets or other sources of big data (e.g., digital traces, text transcripts, etc.) is preferred.
A team player who can work in a multidisciplinary setting.
Quantitative analytical and programming skills, as well as expertise in data visualization tools, are desired but not required.
