Job summary

The School of Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering at Nanyang Technological University invites applications for a Project Officer to support research and development in surface engineering and heat exchangers for energy-efficient thermal systems. You will work on developing and optimizing engineered surfaces, conducting experiments, and validating prototypes.

Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, you will analyze data, refine processes, and contribute to scalable thermal-fluid technologies

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Knowledge of heat transfer and surface engineering is preferred.
• Experience with surface fabrication, material and surface characterization is advantageous.
• Familiarity with experimental design, data acquisition and analysis for thermal performance.
• Strong writing and communication skills; able to work in a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Conduct experimental research in surface engineering to enhance flow boiling of refrigerant.
• Develop and optimize engineered surfaces and surface treatment processes for enhanced thermal performance.
• Design, fabricate and characterize surface-engineered components and prototypes.
• Plan and conduct thermal-fluid experiments to evaluate heat-transfer and system performance.
• Develop, modify and operate experimental test rigs, instrumentation and measurement systems.
• Analyse experimental data and identify opportunities for process and design optimization.
• Support the scale-up of laboratory-developed surface engineering processes towards larger-scale prototypes.
• Prepare technical reports, research papers and other project deliverables.
