Key Responsibilities
- Be involved in a vibrant team leading the development of ocean and coastal modelling capabilities, including:
- Development of high-resolution coastal models for the regional and local waters using DELFT3D-FM/MIKE; and/or
- Development of high-resolution ocean circulation models for the regional waters using NEMO;
- Development of relevant tools, techniques, and methodologies, such as data assimilation, data-driven models and Bayesian networks.
- Working together with a research team carrying out projects related to the development of models for forecasting and prediction of the metocean environment.
- Undertake management of project tasks and produce the deliverables within the agreed parameters in an appropriate format, to ensure that relevant project tasks are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget.
- Develop detailed project plans to monitor and track project progress and performance, specifically to analyze the successful completion of short and long-term goals.
- Present at conferences, attend training as required to maintain proficiency.
Requirements
- Bachelors or Masters Degree in Engineering (Ocean/Coastal Engineering or Hydraulic/Environmental/Mechanical engineering majoring in Fluid Dynamics/Mechanics) or other related discipline.
Preferred Experiences and Knowledge
- Oceanography, ocean and coastal hydrodynamics.
- Open-source models for coastal modelling and ocean circulation modelling e.g. DELFT3D-FM, NEMO.
- Knowledge in sensing, data analytics, machine learning will be an advantage.
