Job summary

Singapore Management University, School of Computing and Information Systems (SCIS), is seeking a research-focused candidate to contribute to NLP and CV projects. The role involves designing, implementing and testing algorithms, and developing response generation or ranking models.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in dialogue systems and pretrained language models, with a proven ability to perform independent research and collaborate with team members.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or senior undergraduate student in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or closely related disciplines.
• Minimum 1 year of relevant research experience in NLP or CV.
• Proficiency with PyTorch or TensorFlow is required.
• Strong knowledge of dialogue systems, pretrained language models and LLMs.
• Demonstrated ability to perform research and publish work is advantageous.
• Experience with Linux and Docker is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Algorithm design, implementation and testing for SCIS projects.
• Set up and develop response generation or ranking models.
• Benchmark comparison and evaluation of models.
• Write scientific reports or summaries related to research findings.
• Collaborate with team members and contribute to ongoing research.
