RESPONSIBILITIES

The candidate will be responsible for conducting research on AI-driven solutions for combinatorial optimization problems in logistics. Successful candidate will be part of an active research team led by Ass.Prof CAO Zhiguang from School of Computing and Information Systems (SCIS), Singapore Management University (SMU).

Candidate's core responsibilities are:

  • Developing novel deep learning assisted generalizable algorithm for solving combinatorial optimization problems.
  • Implementing traditional optimization algorithms.
  • Collecting real-world dataset and testing the above algorithms for benchmarking.
  • Writing paper for publication.
  • Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems or closely related disciplines from a reputable institution of higher learning; with particular focus on Artificial Intelligence
  • Minimum 1 year of relevant research experience in deep learning
  • Proficiency in programming software/languages such as python will be positively considered/ is required
  • Proven track record and professional experience in deep learning
  • Demonstrated experience and know-how on diffusion models
  • Excellent working knowledge of combinatorial optimization• Technical skills in PyTorch
  • Ability to break down complex problems and design effective solutions
  • Innovating new approaches and thinking outside the box
  • Applicants with research publications in AI area will be advantageous
  • Ability to work cooperatively as part of a small, agile academic research team is essential
  • Self-motivated individual who can work independently and collaboratively with team members
