Job summary

Newmark is seeking a Research Data & Analytics Intern to support data, analytics, and automation work within the research team. This hands-on learning role provides guidance and is suited for someone with a data foundation who wants to apply and develop skills in a real-world research environment.

You will work on maintaining datasets, performing basic data cleaning, and producing dashboards in Power BI, while gaining exposure to APIs and external data sources.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a relevant diploma or degree in data-related field.
• Exposure to SQL with basic querying ability.
• Basic familiarity with APIs and external data sources.
• Exposure to Power BI or similar BI tools.
• Detail-oriented and able to follow structured guidance.

Responsibilities

• Organize and maintain research datasets including tenant and market data.
• Assist with data extraction, cleaning, and basic analysis using SQL.
• Pull and refresh data from external sources and APIs where relevant.
• Support preparation and maintenance of Power BI dashboards and charts.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the organisation and maintenance of research datasets, including tenant and market data
• Assist with data extraction, cleaning, and basic analysis using SQL
• Help pull and refresh data from external sources, including working with APIs where relevant
• Support the preparation and maintenance of Power BI dashboards and charts
• Assist with structuring research databases and documentation
• Provide ad-hoc data and research support as required

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a diploma or degree in Data Science, Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
• Exposure to SQL, with basic querying ability
• Basic familiarity with APIs and external data sources
• Exposure to Power BI or other business intelligence / data visualisation tools
• Comfortable working with data and learning new tools
• Detail-oriented and able to follow structured guidance

Nice to Have (Not Required)

• Exposure to databases (e.g. MySQL, PostgreSQL, cloud databases)
• Interest in market research, economics, or real estate
