Job description

We are recruiting a Research Coordinator at the Cancer Discovery Hub, National Cancer Centre Singapore. You will be involved in various “omics” projects based on Next Generation Sequencing (NGS), single-cell technologies, as well as spatial profiling. You will be required to perform wet bench assays, including library preparation for NGS assays, data management, extraction, mining and analysis of NGS data, and preparation of research publications/grant applications, assist post-doctoral fellows and the PI in highly impactful projects in translational oncology and cancer science. The candidate will also be expected to mine, collate and manage clinical data, supporting large multi-institutional/multi-national studies. The latter will be performed with the supervision and mentorship of a data manager/analyst.

Your responsibilities will include:
- Conduct accurate monitoring, documenting and reporting of experimental results and/or research findings.
- Perform wet bench experiments in the laboratory, including extraction of analytes e.g. DNA/RNA/protein from biological material.
- Assist researchers in programming, data analysis and literature review in various research projects.
- Contribute to project management, presentations, manuscript preparation & submission for publications.
- Prepare, submit and maintain IRB and study-related documents and data.
- Mine and collate patient-related data from clinical databases.
- Create and manage online databases for clinical data entry from multi-institutional/multi-national collaborators.
- Assist in patient biological sample retrieval and processing.
- Assist with general upkeep of laboratory needs, provide technical support and establish work procedures to ongoing research projects and maintaining good safety record for lab audits.
- Perform other related duties incidental to the work described therein.
- Support all ancillary activities of the lab including fund raising, education and philanthropy efforts.

Requirements:
- A recognized professional degree in Biomedical/ Clinical Sciences, preferably with Bachelor or Master Degree.
- An aptitude for research and at least 2 years of relevant research experience. Experience in next generation sequencing, single cell work and spatial profiling assays will be advantageous.
- Candidates with working knowledge in cancer research, data management, next generation sequencing will be desirable.
- A highly motivated individual displaying strong interest in translational cancer research.
- Highly motivated individual with willingness to learn.
- Good interpersonal skills and a team player.
