Research Associate/ Research Scientist (Data Scientist/Biomechanics/Human Movements)

Rehabilitation Research Institute of Singapore (RRIS) is a tripartite research institution under Nanyang Technological University (NTU), National Healthcare Group (NHG), and Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR). The research scope of RRIS includes clinical assessment of movement ability of various pathological cohorts, such as neurological and musculoskeletal conditions, with a strong emphasis on data-driven movement analysis. RRIS works very closely with clinical partners from the Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH) and Woodlands Health Campus (WHC).

RRIS is seeking to hire a responsible and talented Research Associate/ Research Scientist for the rehabilitation research. The candidate for this position will work on data analysis of human movements to support different projects in the institute. He is also involved in designing and developing a user interface that interacts with a markerless motion capture system API/library.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct and support research in the rehabilitation field, particularly in human movement
  • Design and develop a user interface that interacts with a markerless motion capture system.
  • Process and analyze movement data with suitable tools and methodologies.
  • Interact with clinical partners to understand research requirements and discuss analysis results.
  • Support the research team to publish research findings.

Job Requirements:

  • A Master's or PhD in biomechanics, data science, computer science, engineering or related fields
  • Knowledge of statistics and machine learning models
  • Proficiency in coding using Python
  • Knowledge of biomechanics and computer vision is a plus
  • Experience in the following skills is a plus: (1) biomechanics software (e.g., Visual3D), (2) backend development (e.g., Flask, Quart), (3) front-end development (e.g., HTML,JavaScript), (4) cloud platforms.
  • Good communication and report-writing skills
  • Possess dedication and highly committed to research and work
