Job description

The Centre for Research and Development in Learning at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore (CRADLE@NTU) seeks applicants with a Masters degree in Psychology, Sociology, Education or related field from a University of good standing for a Research Associate Position.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Overseeing the day-to-day operations of a research project on vertical leadership development for school leadership professional development.
  • Liaise and work closely with stakeholders from schools and project collaborators.
  • Conduct literature reviews and prepare policy reports for stakeholders.
  • Preparation and updating of ethics documents to the Institutional Review Board.
  • Participant recruitment.
  • Data collection through interviews over three time-points, together with the Principal Investigator (PI) and the research team.
  • Data collection through field observations and document analysis, together with the PI and research team.
  • Perform data analysis and manage data analysis pipelines under the supervision of the PI and contracting school division.
  • Perform research-related administrative work, such as the purchase of materials/equipment for research.
  • Carry any other duties as required by the Principal Investigator.
Job Requirements:
  • Masters in Psychology, Sociology, Education or related field from a University of good standing.
  • Possess excellent communication skills with a good command of the English language to perform literature reviews and write progress reports.
  • Self-motivator, able to work independently to collect data, analyze data, and communicate findings.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and experience with Nvivo software.
  • Willing to travel to school sites for data collection.
  • Excellent organizational skills and able to work within tight deadlines.
  • Self-directed learner who effectively picks up relevant skills as needed.
  • Prior experience with qualitative research methods.
  • Prior teaching experience at MOE schools is a bonus.
  • Prior experience with academic publication processes.
  • Good knowledge of qualitative research methods, and knowledge/appreciation for leadership and management theories.
