Job description

The Center for Southeast Asian Archaeology at the School of Humanities, NTU Singapore, undertakes archaeological projects in Singapore and the Southeast Asian region. The center is looking for a highly motivated project officer/research associate who will work closely with the PIs to coordinate their fieldwork projects in Southeast Asia, and also assist in the coordination of post-excavation analysis at the archaeology lab supervising and coordinating work by student research assistants. The individual is expected to ensure the compliance of fund utilization in accordance with the grant agency and university guidelines while handling procurement and logistic needs and other ad hoc administrative tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordination on Fieldwork Projects in Southeast Asia

  • Monitoring project expenditures to ensure compliance with grant guidelines

  • Processing claims and expenditures in accordance with university guidelines

  • Liaising with funding bodies, researchers, and collaborators on group matters

  • Tracking project milestones and deliverables, ensuring timely completion and reporting

  • Organizing meetings, workshops, and events related to the project.

  • Assisting in preparing funding reports, renewal applications, and project evaluations

Job Requirements:

  • Minimally Bachelor of Arts with Honours with 2 – 3 years of working experience

  • Applicants with Masters of Arts is preferred

  • Other Bachelor/Master degree relevant to archaeology, history, or a humanities or social science discipline may also be considered

  • Ability to work independently

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Strong Work Ethics and Team player
