Job Description

The Global Centre for Asian Women’s Health (GloW) aims to build a global research platform for transdisciplinary endeavors to address major health concerns over a woman's lifespan and across generations. Through its main hub in Singapore, the Centre will engage in multi-disciplinary research to promote women’s health, including a series of diet and lifestyle intervention studies.

Purpose of the role

The project coordinator/manager will play a key role in dietary intervention studies by actively managing and coordinating diet and lifestyle intervention studies in GloW. Responsibilities include developing, implementing, and monitoring meal plans, educating participants as needed, collecting dietary data, and performing administrative duties to ensure the studies’ success and compliance. The staff will work closely with Principal Investigators of intervention studies, collaborate with the research team, food service team, and other stakeholders, as well as undertake other ad-hoc responsibilities assigned by the Centre’s Director.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

The staff will hold key responsibilities, including:

  1. Intervention Study Coordination:
    • Recruit and interview study participants
    • Implement methods for collecting dietary data, including food intake records and compliance monitoring
    • Conduct assessments of participants' nutritional status and document deviations from prescribed diets
  2. Nutritional Monitoring:
    • Monitor food/nutrient composition for intervention meals
    • Collaborate with the research team to integrate nutritional components into study design
    • Coordinate with the Food Service team on diet requirements, menu, and recipe development
  3. Participant Education and Counseling:
    • Provide individualized nutrition education
    • Communicate nutritional information and address participant questions
    • Support participant adherence to dietary protocols
  4. Administrative and Leadership Duties:
    • Ensure compliance with regulatory and ethical standards
    • Maintain accurate records related to trial administration and documentation
  5. Additional Duties:
    • Perform ad-hoc tasks as assigned by the Centre Director

Qualifications

  1. Master's degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, Food Science & Technology, or relevant fields
  2. Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  3. Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  4. Understanding of the research environment
  5. Adherence to professional ethics and integrity
  6. Registered Dietitian with SNDA or equivalent (preferred)
  7. At least 6 years of relevant experience in nutrition or dietetics (preferred)

Additional Skills and Attributes

  1. Familiarity with local and global cuisines
  2. Independence and adaptability in a fast-paced environment
  3. Commitment to organizational culture and continuous learning
  4. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and online meeting tools
  5. Familiarity with nutrient databases
