The National University of Singapore invites applications for Research Fellow / Research Associate to be involved in The Integrated Women’s Health Program (IWHP) longitudinal cohort and the MUSE Randomized Control Trial involving midlife menopausal women in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine.
You are invited to join a well-funded impactful dynamic research team with an established longitudinal cohort. The team conducts cutting-edge Epidemiological Studies and conducts Randomized Control Trials to illuminate issues relevant to midlife women’s health. The Department of O&G provides excellent and affordable care to patients. This mission is driven tirelessly by a staff united by a common identity – to support patient care through best-in-class medical practices informed by insights from cutting-edge clinical and translational research. Appointments will be made on a 1-yearcontract basis, with the possibility of extension.
Purpose of the post: Epidemiology/Biostatistics expertise required
The Research Associate / Fellow will be responsible to, and work closely with, the Principal Investigator, study team members, and external collaborators to ensure the successful completion of clinical studies, interpret and make meaning of the data collected. The RA/RF’s principal role will be to support the project through their Epidemiology/Biostatistics expertise, data analysis, scientific and manuscript writing. In a lean team, assisting in participant recruitment, and data collection may be expected.
Main duties and responsibilities: Epidemiological and Biostatistical Analyses and manuscript writing
The Research Associate / Fellow should have Epidemiological and Biostatistical Analytical capabilities and manuscript writing capabilities.He/shewill be a key member of the team for data analyses, interpretation and writing-up of scientific findings. He/she will be accountable to the Principal Investigator (PI). The RA / RF will be able to:
(1) Conduct quantitative data analysis using SPSS / STATA / R;
(2) Lead the development of research hypotheses and preparation of scholarly manuscripts.
(3) Ensure effective management and organization of collected data;
(4) Provide mentorship and guidance to junior members of the team;
(5) Assist with any other duties of a similar nature that are delegated by the PI.
Qualifications
(a) Hold a Master’s or PhD degree in Epidemiology/Biostatistics related disciplines;
(b) Have experience using data analysis software, e.g. SPSS, STATA, R;
(c) Demonstrate a track record of Epidemiology/Biostatistics publications;
(d) Be capable of working independently and in a team, have an investigative nature, attention to detail, a proactive mindset, and excellent communication skills;
(e) An interest in women’s health
