Job summary

Qualifications

• Masters or B.Sc. with Honors in Life Sciences or equivalent.
• Experience or interest in electrophysiology and neuroscience.
• Be able to work independently, and in a team, with attention to detail.
• Fluent in written and spoken English.
• Familiarity with MS Office, PowerPoint and statistics analyses.

Responsibilities

• Perform experiments in the laboratory, largely molecular experiments, electrophysiology experiments and mouse model work.
• Adhere to procedures, safety standards and instructions in the conduct of experiments.
• Maintain proper records of all experiments done and results obtained.
• Maintain and update inventories.
• Effective communication of results.
• Maintain high quality of work in the lab experiments.
• Attends meetings and meets deadlines.
• Work closely with PI and team in optimizing experimental methodology for research.
• Revise techniques and troubleshooting guidance.
• Participate in lab protocol maintenance.
• Ensuring standard operating protocols are followed.
• Ensure smooth running of the laboratory by participation in the maintenance of laboratory equipment, inventory and supplies.
• Assist other lab members in their experiments where needed.

Job Responsibilities:

Laboratory research

1. Perform experiments in the laboratory, largely molecular experiments, electrophysiology experiments and mouse model work
2. Adhere to procedures, safety standards and instructions in the conduct of experiments
3. Maintain proper records of all experiments done and results obtained
4. Maintain and update inventories
5. Effective communication of results
6. Maintain high quality of work in the lab experiments
7. Attends meetings and meets deadlines

Research Methodology

1. Work closely with PI and team in optimizing experimental methodology for research
2. Revise techniques and troubleshooting guidance
3. Participate in lab protocol maintenance
4. Ensuring standard operating protocols are followed

Laboratory operation and teamwork

1. Ensure smooth running of the laboratory by participation in the maintenance of laboratory equipment, inventory and supplies.
2. Assist other lab members in their experiments where needed

Job Requirements:

• Masters Degree and/or B.Sc. with Honors in Life sciences or equivalent
• Prior experience in handling rodent models
• Technical competence in a broad set of laboratory skills
• Experience or interest in electrophysiology and neuroscience
• Be able to work independently, and in a team, have an investigative nature and pays attention to detail
• Fluent in both written and spoken English.
• Familiarity with computer applications e.g. MS Office, Power Point and basic skills in statistics analyses
