Responsibilities

• Serve as the Project Manager and lead day-to-day operations of community-based research on respiratory virus epidemiology and vaccination
• Coordinate, train, supervise and motivate team members for participant enrolment and follow-up in community/outreach settings
• Ensure compliance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP), SOPs and regulatory requirements
• Develop enrolment and follow-up targets, timelines and progress monitoring
• Maintain data quality and study documentation across field and lab activities
• Coordinate clinical specimens collection, transport, storage and management
• Manage study finances including incentives, reimbursements and vendor payments
• Liaise with ethics, regulatory, funding bodies and external partners
• Assist investigators with protocol development, budgeting, grant administration and reporting
• Draft written study reports and assist with other administrative duties
• Be flexible with irregular working hours as needed

The Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health (SSHSPH) at the National University of Singapore (NUS) is seeking a highly motivated and experienced full-time Research Associate to conduct and manage community-based epidemiologic research on the transmission, immunity and vaccination of influenza, COVID-19, RSV and common cold respiratory viruses in Singapore. Those with more experience/ qualifications will be considered for appointment as Research Fellow. This role offers the potential to develop and grow a new research support team with the Principal Investigator. Duties and Responsibilities

• To serve as the Project Manager and lead and manage day-to-day operations of community-based research on the epidemiology of respiratory virus infections and vaccinations
• To coordinate, train, supervise and motivate team members to conduct research activities in outreach centres and the community for participant enrolment and follow-up, for example in-person/ online interviews and surveys, blood and respiratory specimens collection, vaccination, whome visits, health screening, health education
• To apply and ensure good research practice in compliance with the Good Clinical Practice (GCP), Standardized Operating Procedures (SOPs) and other regulatory requirements
• To develop and maintain enrolment and follow-up targets, timelines and progress monitoring
• To assure the quality of data collection and study documentation
• To coordinate clinical specimens collection, transport, storage and management in the field and laboratory
• To manage financial aspects of study operations such as incentives, reimbursement and payments to participants and vendors
• To liaise with ethics, regulatory, funding and other external bodies
• To coordinate with site partners and international collaborators
• To assist study investigators with study protocol development/ amendment, budget planning, grant administration, financial oversight and reporting
• To draft written reports
• To assist in general administrative, operational and other duties as assigned
• Irregular working hours may be required

Qualifications

• Master's degree or above, preferably in public health, medical science, life science, nursing, allied health or related disciplines with at least 2 years of post-qualification work experience in clinical trial and/or epidemiologic study management
• GCP certification
• Excellent project management, written/ verbal communication, and interpersonal skills
• Good time management and ability to manage multiple tasks
• Able to work independently and collaboratively within the team as well as across teams
• Be organised, responsible, detail-minded and self-motivated

The following knowledge and experience would be advantageous

• Registered Nurse (RN), Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) or Enrolled Nurse (EN) with the Singapore Nursing Board with a valid practising certificate
• Excellent command of written and spoken English
• Proficiency in written and spoken Chinese, as well as fluency in other local languages or dialects, as job duties include survey development for older adults who are likely to be Chinese/dialect speaking participants
• Experience with electronic data capture (EDC) platforms such as REDCap
• Experience in research involving vulnerable populations for example children, pregnant women and older adults
• Experience in infectious disease research for example surveillance and field studies
• Experience in infectious disease wet-lab
• Experience contributing to research grant applications.
