Job Description

CREPSING (Collective Reflective Equilibrium in Practice in Singapore) explores the ethical and societal considerations regarding the implementation of genomics and precision medicine in Singapore. Using mixed-methods research, this project seeks to understand community and stakeholder experiences and perspectives on population genomics screening and to co-design policies for the ethical, equitable and socially responsible implementation of population genomics screening.

The successful candidate will contribute to research examining the implementation of population genomics screening and precision medicine in Singapore. Key responsibilities include:

  • Conduct literature reviews and contribute to the development of study protocols and questionnaires.
  • Prepare and submit ethics applications to Institutional Review Boards (IRBs) and support ongoing ethics reporting.
  • Design, conduct, analysis, and interpretation of qualitative research studies, including in-depth interviews, focus group discussions.
  • Develop, pilot, and evaluate questionnaires and survey instruments to assess community and stakeholder views and experiences.
  • Analyse qualitative and quantitative data using appropriate methodological approaches and software tools (e.g., NVivo, Qualtrics) and support the integration of findings from mixed-methods studies.
  • Lead or contribute to the timely preparation, writing, and submission of manuscripts, reports, policy documents, conference abstracts, and other research outputs.
  • Present research findings to academic, clinical, policy, and public audiences through workshops, stakeholder engagements, conferences, and dissemination activities locally and internationally.
  • Support the overall management and coordination of research projects, including participant recruitment, data collection, stakeholder engagement, organisation of meetings and workshops, and other administrative and operational activities as required.
Job Requirements

  • Demonstrated interest in or knowledge of one or more of the following areas: genomics, precision medicine, implementation science, health policy, bioethics or applied social science research. Familiarity with clinical genomics practice or population screening programmes would be an advantage.
  • Excellent analytical skills, strong attention to detail, and a commitment to producing high-quality and accurate research.
  • Fluency in English with excellent written and verbal communication skills and demonstrated ability to prepare high-quality research reports, manuscripts and presentations
  • Highly motivated, organised and proactive, with strong project management and organisational skills, and the ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary research team.
