A leading educational institution in Singapore is seeking a part-time Research Associate for a one-year project on climate change mitigation. The role involves developing digital tools in collaboration with artists and scientists, managing research trips, and conducting evaluations. The ideal candidate holds a relevant Bachelor’s or Master’s degree. Regular field trips to Bintan and participation in presentations are expected.
The ‘Developing and Evaluating Digital Tools for Participatory Climate Change Mitigation’ research grant is seeking to hire a part-time Research Associate at the School of Art, Design and Media for a one-year duration.
The successful candidate will be based at the NTU Centre for Contemporary Art Singapore. Regular fieldtrips to Bintan will be necessary.
Key Responsibilities:
Under the supervision of Professor Ute Meta Bauer, the research staff will work in an interdisciplinary and collaborative research environment, aiming to support the development of digital tools (i.e. online manuals) alongside artists, scientists, and coastal communities in Bintan. This digital tool focuses on mangrove and coral restoration and eco-friendly tourism, aiming to address the needs of coastal communities to determine nature-based solutions and mitigation strategies for sea level rise in Bintan, Indonesia and apply these learnings to Singapore.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor/Master’s degree in humanities, cultural anthropology, art, architecture or design, or environmental studies
Responsible for the managerial oversight of the project’s research field trips, publishing and editorial aspects.
Author research publications and contribute to the development of public or scholarly presentations related to the research project.
Support the development of an evaluation rubric for the effectiveness of digital tools (ie. online manuals) for climate change mitigation
