Job summary

P-Con Management Pte Ltd, on behalf of a confidential client in pharma/ life sciences, seeks a Research Scientist to support analytical chemistry and characterization in a regulated lab. This secondment means you'll be employed by P-Con and deployed to the client site in Singapore, with potential hybrid arrangements per client needs.

The role requires hands-on experience with HPLC/UPLC, GC, MS and related techniques; strong data analysis, technical writing, and ability to work independently

Qualifications

• Requires M.Sc. or Ph.D. in Chemistry or Biochemistry.
• 2–5 years of hands-on analytical lab experience (post-degree).
• Experience with analytical techniques such as chromatography (HPLC/UPLC/GC), spectroscopy, or mass spectrometry.
• Knowledge of method development and/or method validation principles.
• Strong data analysis, interpretation and technical writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop, validate and execute analytical methods for the characterization of small molecules, proteins and other biochemical compounds.
• Operate and maintain analytical instrumentation (e.g. HPLC/UPLC, GC, mass spectrometry, UV-Vis, spectroscopy platforms).
• Analyze process materials, intermediates, reference standards and final products against defined specifications.
• Interpret analytical data, prepare technical reports, and support investigations into out-of-specification or atypical results.
• Support method transfer, stability studies, and comparability/characterization work as required.
• Maintain accurate, audit-ready laboratory records in line with the client's quality systems.
• Collaborate with research, quality and manufacturing-adjacent teams on analytical strategy and troubleshooting.
• Adhere to the client's laboratory safety, quality and (where applicable) GMP/GLP requirements.

About the Role

On behalf of a confidential client in the pharmaceutical / life sciences sector, P-Con Management is seeking a Research Scientist to support analytical chemistry and characterization work within a research and quality-focused laboratory function. This is a secondment placement: you will be employed under P-Con's payroll and deployed to work on-site (or in a hybrid arrangement, per client requirements) with our client's research team.

This role suits a scientist with hands‑on analytical laboratory experience who is comfortable working across both chemical and biochemical sample types in a regulated, quality-conscious environment.

Required Qualifications

• M.Sc. or Ph.D. in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Analytical Chemistry, or a related life sciences discipline
• Approximately 2–5 years of relevant hands‑on analytical laboratory experience (post‑degree)
• Demonstrated experience with analytical techniques such as chromatography (HPLC/UPLC/GC), spectroscopy, or mass spectrometry
• Working knowledge of method development and/or method validation principles
• Strong data analysis, interpretation and technical writing skills
• Ability to work independently while collaborating within a cross‑functional research team

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience analyzing both small‑molecule and biomolecule (protein/peptide) samples
• Prior experience in a GMP, GLP, or otherwise regulated laboratory environment
• Familiarity with electronic lab notebooks (ELN), LIMS, or chromatography data systems (CDS)
• Experience supporting regulatory submissions, stability programs, or technology transfer is an advantage
