Job summary

Nanyang Technological University’s ASE invites applications for a Research Associate to advance integrated assessment modeling on a Singapore MOE funded project hosted by ASE. The Yanyan Cheng research group seeks to examine interactions among land, water, carbon, energy, climate, ecosystems, and human systems.

This is a one-year appointment with potential renewal based on performance and funding availability.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in information and communication engineering.
• Experience in 3D point-cloud processing is highly desirable.

• Proficient in Python and MATLAB with deep-learning framework experience.

The Yanyan Cheng research group is seeking a Research Associate. This position is part of a Singapore MOE funded research project hosted by ASE. The Research Associate will help advance research in integrated assessment modeling and understand interactions among land, water, carbon, energy, climate, ecosystems, and human systems.

Job Requirements

• The candidate should hold a master's degree in information and communication engineering, with research experience in 3D point-cloud or point-cloud sequence processing, is highly desirable.
• The candidate should posse extensive relevant experience in model design and development, programming implementation, experimental design and evaluation, and peer-reviewed scientific writing.
• The candidate should have demonstrated research expertise in both remote sensing and computer vision.
• The candidate should have a strong publication record. Preference will be given to candidates with first- or co-first-author papers in CCF Rank A computer science venues (e.g., CVPR) and leading peer-reviewed remote sensing journals (e.g., IEEE TGRS).
• The candidate should have strong programming skills in Python and MATLAB, together with practical experience in deep-learning frameworks such as PyTorch, remote sensing data processing, Linux environments, and high-performance computing.
• The candidate must be able to communicate fluently and demonstrate strong academic writing skills for papers, reports, and presentations.
• The candidate should be able to work independently and collaboratively, manage large datasets and research codebases, meet project deadlines, and produce reproducible research outputs.
• Interpersonal skill (e.g. Ability to work independently / develop solutions under strict timelines, meticulous and eye for details / excellent organizational / time management skills).
