Job Responsibilities:
- Manage research data and keep up-to-date research records, be able to perform data analyses and critically interpret generated data, and summarise research findings.
- Search and sort out literature and database, identify key findings of previous research, and be able to paraphrase and consolidate key concepts of literature.
- Conduct data collection independently (survey, classroom observation, FGD, interview, spoken and written language data).
- Process and generate descriptive data from surveys, classroom observation, FGDs, interviews and corpora independently.
- Be able to construct teaching plans or test items independently.
- Be able to design research tools for school-based project.
- Project administration tasks such as scheduling and liaise with schools.
- Be able to develop and maintain co-operative working relationships with Principal Investigator, colleagues and collaborators, be able to give feedback and share ideas or experience with others, and resolve problems in most situations.
- Be able to report clearly on design and progress of research project.
- Write research reports and papers, and be able to produce relevant write-ups for proposals under PI’s supervision.
Job Requirements:
- Master’s degree or equivalent.
- Excellent organizational skills and able to work independently within given deadlines.
- Experience in working with teachers and students in Singapore schools.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and project management skills.
- Basic statistical knowledge and skills.
- Good theoretical knowledge of research designs in general.
- Good IT skills.
- Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills in both English and Chinese, to liaise with Chinese-speaking associates.
- Basic knowledge in Chinese Linguistics and Language Teaching and Learning.
