We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-orientedResearch Assistant/ Associateto join our dynamic research team. In this role, you will work closely withcolleagues at the Vaccine Research Unit at BISI (VRU@BISI), to ensure the successful execution of research and education projects. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge projects in infectious diseases and vaccines, gain hands-on experience in research operations, and support the advancement of impactful scientific work in the domains of vaccines and vaccination related policy and programmes, at local, regional and global levels.
As a Research Assistant/Associate, your primary responsibilities will include assisting in managing VRU@BISI research projects, performing research and education support and operations, including handling administrative duties. You will play a key role in ensuring the smooth functioning of research and educational activities and will have the opportunity to develop a wide range of skills in a collaborative and supportive environment.
Research and Education Support:
Assist in the design, planning, and execution of research and education projects.
Conduct comprehensive literature reviews to support ongoing research initiatives.
Assist in the collection, entry, cleaning, and analysis of research data.
Contribute to the preparation of research reports, presentations, and publications.
Project Management:
Coordinate research activities to ensure adherence to project timelines and deliverables.
Assist in the recruitment and management of study participants, ensuring compliance with ethical and procedural guidelines.
Maintain accurate and organized records of research data, project documentation, and other relevant materials.
Administrative Duties:
Schedule meetings, prepare agendas, and document minutes to ensure effective communication and follow-up.
Manage communication with internal and external collaborators, stakeholders, and partners.
Assist in maintaining and updating the team’s website and social media accounts to disseminate research findings and updates.
Support budget tracking and the procurement of research-related materials and resources.
Team Collaboration:
Work closely with Dr. Mak, Dr. Rustagi at VRU@BISI and other team members to achieve research objectives and deliverables.
Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and productive team environment.
A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related discipline (e.g., Public Health, Public Policy, Social Sciences, or a relevant and related field).
Demonstrated experience in vaccines and vaccination policy, programme evaluation, scoping reviews, and systematic reviews with experience in quantitative, qualitative, and mixed methods research.
Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
Proficiency in data management and analysis tools, including Excel, STATA, NVivo, and PowerPoint.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Prior experience in research or project management is highly desirable.
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality, accurate work.
