Job summary

Singapore Management University invites applications for a Research Assistant (1-year contract) in the School of Computing and Information Systems (SCIS). The role covers project coordination, scheduling visits to deployment sites, and configuring sensor networks and IoT systems for in-home sensing of human behaviour.

You will document findings and prepare reports within a small, agile research team. A Diploma in CS/IT/IS is required; fluent English is essential, Mandarin is a plus.

Qualifications

• Minimum Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems or any related disciplines.
• Relevant experience in healthcare related projects and subject management is preferred but not compulsory.
• Strong interpersonal, communication and organization skills.
• Proficient in spoken English, with the ability to communicate in Mandarin being an advantage as the candidate will liaise with Mandarin-speaking stakeholders.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge/proficiency in hardware sensors and IOT/cloud computing.
• Good writing and documentation.
• Ability to work cooperatively as part of a small, agile academic research team is essential.
• Self-motivated individual who can work independently and collaboratively with team members.
