Job description

Job Description:

The Signature Research Programme in Health Services and Systems Research (HSSR) at Duke-NUS is a centre of academic excellence for research and education on the organisation, funding and delivery of health services. The programme’s focus is on public health and clinical service innovation in an increasingly complex and connected world.

The selected candidate will join a research project and perform a variety of research activities, with a primary focus on supporting the Principal Investigator with recruitment and data collection at the study sites:

  1. Conduct fieldwork activities, including eligibility screening, obtaining consent, setting up and administering surveys at the study sites and participants’ residences.

  2. Prepare and manage study materials, including informed consent documents, screening logs, enrolment logs, and recruitment logs, ensuring accuracy and organisation throughout the study process.

  3. Ensure compliance with study protocols and adherence to the study schedule.

  4. Perform other related duties as assigned by the Principal Investigator.

Job Requirements

  1. Degree in Sociology, Gerontology, Social Work, Public Health or other related disciplines.

  2. Bilingual in English and Mandarin/Hokkien/Malay is required to conduct fieldwork activities.

  3. Possess strong interpersonal communications skills, with the ability to communicate and interact comfortably with older adults.

  4. Have experience with survey administration and data management.

  5. Prior experience with Qualtrics is highly desirable.

  6. Prior work experience in a research or academic environment would be advantageous.

  7. Possess strong computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and virtual meeting software (e.g. Zoom).

  8. A highly motivated team player who can work collaboratively in an interdisciplinary team and work independently.

Due to the nature of the project, some surveys may need to be conducted outside regular office hours or on weekends. Time off from work would be granted in such instances.
