Job Description

The Signature Research Programme in Emerging Infectious Diseases (EID) aims to pioneer the development and discovery of new and more effective methods for the treatment, prevention, and control of emerging pathogens. The key outcome of the research will be the early identification of new pathogens, leading to the development of new diagnostic tests, treatments, and control strategies.

The selected candidate will participate in developing mRNA vaccines against the dengue virus. The main goal is to establish a novel mRNA vaccine effective against all four dengue serotypes. The candidate will undertake various research activities, including planning, organizing, and conducting studies under the supervision of the Principal Investigator, such as:

  • Planning and performing experiments like cell culture, mRNA vaccine construction, and animal studies.
  • Handling laboratory preparations, ordering, and managing consumables.
  • Utilizing basic computer skills for data collection and analysis.
  • Performing other related duties incidental to the work.
Job Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Sciences, Life Sciences, or a related discipline with 1-2 years of laboratory experience.
  • Basic knowledge, skills, and technical expertise in biological research activities.
  • Routine laboratory skills, including biological safety procedures.
  • Experience in infectious disease pathology or vaccine development is advantageous.
  • Strong team player, open-minded, energetic, motivated, and able to work collaboratively in a diverse team.
