Duke-NUS Medical School's Signature Research Programme in Emerging Infectious Diseases invites applications for a full-time Research Assistant in the Ho Laboratory led by Jessica S. Ho.
The role focuses on studying Influenza A biology and pathogenesis, performing planning, organization and execution of research under supervision, and supporting data analysis, literature reviews, and lab upkeep within an interdisciplinary team.
The Signature Research Programme in Emerging Infectious Diseases (EID) aims to pioneer our understanding of emerging infections through world-class research that integrates immunology, infection biology, pathogen genomics, and computational approaches. This integration drives comprehensive studies of host-pathogen interactions across molecular, individual, and population scales to address emerging health challenges.
This position is for a full-time Research Assistant in the Ho Laboratory led by Jessica S. Ho in EID.
Viruses dramatically alter the transcriptomes and the epigenomes of their host cells and host organisms during infection. The Ho lab is specifically interested in understanding how these changes impact both the virus and their host in the short-and long-term. To do so, our team uses a combination of next generation sequencing (e.g. short and long read RNA-seq, ChIP-seq, eCLIP) techniques, molecular biology as well as in vivo and in vitro models of Influenza A infection.
The selected candidate will study Influenza A biology and pathogenesis, and will perform a variety of research activities which include planning, organizing and conducting research studies within the overall scope of a research project under the supervision of the Principal Investigator or his/her designate, including but not limited to the following:
We regret that only shortlisted candidates will be notified.
