Research Assistant (Immunopathology Laboratory)

Job Description

We are inviting applications for the position of Research Assistant to join our laboratory team.

In this role, you will apply immunologic methods developed in our laboratory for patients diagnosed with haematologic malignancies to:

1. Precisely classify the cancer cells at diagnosis or recurrence of the disease.
2. Assess the response to treatment throughout therapy.
3. Monitor and characterise genetically engineered cells infused into patients enrolled on cell therapy protocols.

Key Responsibilities and Roles

1. Process clinical research samples and collect data from local and overseas institutions.
2. Participate in all aspects of laboratory quality control (internal and external).
3. Document work processes and maintain databases.
4. Perform daily and monthly maintenance of critical laboratory equipment.

Remuneration is commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications and experience. This role offers the opportunity to work in a clinical research environment, contribute to the understanding and treatment of haematologic malignancies, and develop valuable skills in flow cytometry.

Qualifications

1. BSc degree in Biological Sciences or related subject from an accredited university.
2. Candidates with no experience are welcome to apply.
3. Excellent ability to understand instructions and technical processes.
4. Basic computer skills.
5. Knowledge of MS Office applications.
6. Good interpersonal and communication skills.
