Research Assistant/Fellow (Biosensors)

Job Description

The candidate will work at the Centre for Advanced 2D Materials at the National University of Singapore in a highly international and multidisciplinary environment with state-of-the-art equipment and facilities. The candidate will work at a laboratory dedicated to the development of biosensors for human sweat.

The position requires a proactive professional, with a wide vision from academia through industries, to:

• Work with biosensors for human sweat

• Prepare chemical and biochemical solutions

• Perform laboratory analytical tests, evaluate the results, and clearly present reports to the team and suggest new pathways

• Initiate, improve, and revise chemical laboratory operations and test procedures when appropriate

• Implement developed techniques for the identification of improvements to meet specific product specifications

• Perform assigned tasks using standardized procedures or detailed verbal or written instructions

• Have excellent chemical laboratory/safety practices

• Review and understand scientific and technical literature

• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English

Qualifications

Candidates must hold an internationally-recognized Bachelor's, Master's degree in the areas of biochemistry, chemistry, materials science, or related fields. Additionally, it would be a bonus if the candidate has:

• Experience with biosensors based on biochemical materials

• Experience with cleanroom chemistry activity, electrochemistry, and knowledge on 2-probe, 4-probe DC testing
