Job Description

We are interested in a full-time Research Assistant to support projects at Alice Lee Centre of Nursing Studies, NUS. We specialise in digital phenotyping, cardiovascular diseases, and obesity-related disorders.

Duties

The appointee will be involved in the full lifecycle of research projects, from study design to publication. This role requires strong academic writing skills and the ability to manage multiple components of research independently.

Key Responsibilities Include

• contributing to the entire academic paper writing process, including drafting, reviewing, revising, and submitting manuscripts
• conducting literature reviews and performing basic statistical analyses using SPSS or R-Studio
• preparing and submitting ethics applications to the Institutional Review Board (IRB) or other relevant ethics board
• coordinating and supervising assigned projects - including screening and recruitment, liaising with other departments, and managing participant appointments
• supporting participant recruitment and onboarding for research studies
• participating in data collection activities, ranging from online surveys (e.g., Qualtrics) to in-person data collection
• cleaning, managing and updating large datasets throughout the course of the studies
• assisting with the review, amendment, and resubmission of manuscripts as needed
  
  

Qualifications

The applicant should:

• hold a Bachelor’s degree in nursing, a social science discipline, or a related quantitative field
• have previous experience in writing or drafting academic papers
• have working proficiency in R and/or SPSS for data cleaning and basic analysis
• demonstrate strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• be able to work both independently and within a team

Preferred Qualifications

• a nursing background
• familiarity with coding for analysis of large datasets and automation of routine tasks
  
  

Remuneration will be commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications and experience. Preference will be given to those with previous experience in research and project management.
