The Centre for Impact Investing and Practices (“CIIP”) fosters the growth of impact investing and practices in Asia and beyond by building and sharing knowledge, bringing together stakeholders in the community, and bringing about positive action that accelerates the adoption of impact investing principles and practices. Based in Singapore, CIIP was established in 2022 as a non-profit centre by Temasek Trust, a steward of philanthropic endowments and gifts.

THE POSITION/ROLE

CIIP was launched in June 2022, with Temasek and ABC Impact as our strategic partners. We are a small team and are looking for individuals who are excited about the potential of impact investing to address social and environmental challenges and recognise the importance of bringing rigour to this process.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with partners to enable research which can lead to greater awareness and adoption of impact investing principles and practices, including impact standards and tools
  • Work with partners to develop and carry out programmes that catalyse impact investing activities in Asia
  • Support and manage programme operations, including screening and reviewing potential applicants, developing and organising curriculum, managing cohorts and partners
  • Convene and organise discussions which bring about better understanding of ecosystem building challenges and opportunities, and explore initiatives to address these challenges and opportunities

IDEAL EXPERIENCE

  • 5 to 8 years of working experience would be an advantage
  • Understanding of business and market strategy, with strong analytical and research skills
  • Experience in stakeholder engagement, programme development and implementation, and project management
  • Experience investing in or building ventures / startups would be an advantage
  • Understanding of Sustainable Development Goals and impact investing principles and standards

KEY ATTRIBUTES & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree(s) preferably in business administration, finance, economics, accounting, public policy or environmental/sustainability studies
  • Good problem-solving skills, ability to structure and clearly break down problem statements to drive research output, with an eye towards action / solution
  • Able to work independently, and yet be a good team player in a small, dynamic team
  • Good conceptualisation and communication skills, able to put together ideas, write, listen and persuade
  • Able to engage business leaders about strategies and opportunities
  • Numerical skills, ability to perform quantitative analysis, would be an advantage
  • Knowledge of Southeast Asian languages would also be an advantage
