Job description

Connect Energy partners with a consultancy firm to look for the following to join their organization immediately.

Responsibilities

• Undertake design and configuration of PV and other renewable energy systems.
• Review/Check System Designs of Rooftop, ground-mounted and Floating Solar systems, which includes equipment (panel, inverter, mounting system, cables, associated electrical system transformer, LV/MV switchgears, etc.) sizing, selection and evaluation, with consideration of space for CAPEX, efficiency, maintenance and operation.
• Perform and/or check/review computer simulation (PVSyst) of solar photovoltaic (PV) generation system performance or energy production to optimize generation and efficiency.
• Undertake and check/review electrical AC/DC cable sizing.
• Create and/or check and review electrical single-line diagrams, system designs, panel schedules, or connection diagrams for solar electric systems using computer-aided design (CAD) software.
• Develop design specifications and functional requirements for residential, commercial, or industrial solar energy systems or components.
• Support in tendering processes such as calling of quotations, discussion with contractors/vendors and the evaluation of tender submissions.
• Support in project execution and commissioning activities such as preparing and monitoring project schedule, controlling communication and project document flow to meet deadlines, supervising contractors' work on site and attending meetings with clients and other stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor degree (Hons) in Electrical Engineering from a University recognized by PEB (Singapore).
• Required experience:
• Min 4 years of Experience in the design of Electrical System or Solar PV system design & engineering for rooftop, ground mounted and floating PV system.
• Experience in the design and application of the BESS with PV generation, complying with applicable local codes & standards will be an advantage.
• Experience and familiarity with EMA and SPPG requirements on Power generation, transmission, connectivity and System design requirements. Familiarity with the EMA and SPPG consultation processes and application will be an advantage.
• Experience and familiarity with HOMER, ETAP software will be an advantage.
• Familiarity with SCDF code requirements for PV system.
• Strong writing skills, verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to be an independent problem solver.
• Team player and ability to work with and manage clients and stakeholders.
• Highly motivated and enthusiastic.
• Candidates must be self-motivated with passion and curiosity for learning and advancing his/her career.
• Willing to work in the western part of Singapore.
